I found may have found him on th 1881 census, it lists him only as J.N. Marshall being the son of Arthur Marshall and Mary. I do know he married Alberta Ferris and moved to Monticello, Maine in 1901. I would liek any information anyone may have as to where I may look further on Arthur and Mary. John is my great grandfather on my father's side. I have been "stuck" here for a very very long time with not a clue as to where to look next. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I know this doesn't help you get back but maybe knowing where he was born will help a bit.     3. Try familysearch.org using the info from the American census I tried this Arthur and he has a wife Mary and a son John N which we now know is Norwood.
