Each Province is responsible for their own Vital Statistics. Some Provinces have recently put some indexes online - those that are considered Public Record. This is different for each Province. British Columbia - allows access to the Public Record Information - found at the Provincial Archive of B.C. Vital Events Index. ANYONE - can view the filmed registrations at no cost. At the Archive or some Public or University Libraries. Transcriptions can be made of the information found. Photo copies can be made - for the cost of copy machine charges..50 cents Cndn or less. Provincial Archive will also give you the same information at the cost of $19 There are Volunteers at: Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness - British Columbia http://www.raogk.org/bcolumbia.htm Anyone who offers Lookup of Public Record - can transcribe or copy information found. Some will offer search for Obituary. Others Cemetery Photo's. Filmed Registration may show - depending on the requirements at the time - and the knowledge held by the informant. Time in Municipality,Province,Canada Place of Death. Name and Address. Date and Place of Birth. Sex.Citizenship.Race,Marital Status.Spouse Occupation.Industry.Time at Occupation.Last worked. Names of parents inclding mothers maiden name - place of birth of parents. Name and Address of Informant. Relationship to Deceased. Date of Death. Cause of Death. Burial or Cremation.
