Where did he settle in Canada or the US? Where and when did he marry? The marriage record may contain additional information about his birthplace and the names of his parents. With such a common name, if you could provide more details about his life here, it would be very helpful in trying to track him down. I am so lost on my great grandfather Henry George Thompson (b. 17 Feb 1860). According to my grandmother, he stowed away on ship from England when he was about 12. According to his death certificate, he was born in London, England. His parents were Robert and Anna (Root) Thompson, both born in London England. Apparently, he was found on the ship and sent to a Canadian Catholic School for Boys. Is there any place to search for these types of school and if my great grandfather was ever enrolled in them? Birth 1767, d unknown. Wife unknown. Children include Peter. Peter migrated to Pennsylvania about 1830-1840. I know it's not much information to go on, but any information at all would be helpful in perhaps leading to another clue. Does anyone know if there is a list of resettled Loyalists in Canada? It might help in other areas of research I'm working on, such as my wife's line. TNX, Allan Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
