Gr Gr Grandaddy John came to America, to build sawmills. He traveled around to different locations. He married Candace Showerman b. 1837 in Pennsylvania m abt 1858 d. 1905 in Allegon Michigan. They had two daughters and one son; Helen b. 1858; Francis E b 1867 and Mae b 1869 His father was John Boisvert, b. 1800 Quebec Canada. Now you know EVERYTHING I know :-( Would someone please help me "get started". I have Family Tree Maker 2005, Ancestry World Edition and the LDS Site. I do not know if their children were born in Quebec or in Lake Linden MI-where Alfred and Caroline settled. Any help would be appreciated. I have very little on our Tcherewkos even though it's my mother's family: Petro Tcherewko (my grandfather) 10 Sep 1914 to 9 Feb 1998. The birthdate might be intentionally wrong; DPs often lied about their vital stats after WWII to avoid being repatriated to the Soviet Union. My grandmother tells me her husband was born in Losowa (which I have located on a modern map as Lozova, Kharkivska Oblast, but also relatively close to Dnipropetrovsk). My a father-in-law came over on the "Empress of Britain" in 1911, so maybe you could try that. Also, the last name sounds like Bjorn Or Bjord, this is a Swedish name, though.
