Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/7aB.2ACEAE/527.1 Message Board Post: Hi Sandra, In order to get positive results out of your querry, if you can, it would be nice to have additional info re your Warrens. Do you have an idea of where Harold settled after his arrival to Canada? Do you by any chance know to whom Harold was married? Do you know where your grandfather Charles might have been born, and some names of Charles' siblings? There is probably someone else currently working on this family. Do you know when, where and whom Charles married? Warren is a common name. They are found all over Canada and the US. So, any tidbit of info you would care to add, that be great, as you'll have better chances of positive results. Esther

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.co.uk/mbexec/msg/rw/7aB.2ACEAE/523.1 Message Board Post: Hi Nicole, Hilaire Charron is a descendant of Pierre Charron "dit" Ducharme and Judith Martin. In the 1881 on-line Canadian Census Hilaire Charron is listed with wife Alphonsine. The Census was taken in Hull Ottawa. Give or take a few years, Hilaire (Hilare on Census) was born about 1852 Quebec and Alphonsine born about 1854 Quebec. Sons : Napoleon born 1873 Quebec and Eugene born 1878 Quebec. Now, you may want to get in touch with Mr. Luc Charron at : charronl@videotron.ca as he is the genealogist and Archivist for the Charron's. You'll probably get additional info from him re Hilaire Charron and wife Alphonsine Gariepy. Also, I don't know where this would fit into your clan, but there is a Hilaire Charron (Louis + Victoire Rochon) who married Celine Brunet (Eustache + Marie Mociau) November 08 1844 at Ste-Genevieve de Pierrefonds Quebec. Interesting facts about the ancestor William Charron of Ottawa (in French) : http://www3.sympatico.ca/sgo/ Hope this helps, Esther

    1. Re: [CGW] WILLIE AND CHRISTINE WHITE
    2. Stella Stanger
    3. Hi, William White was born in Scotland ? Christine {Weir} White was born in Scotland aprox 1876. They were married where ,when? Children ? Knowing this might at least give you a time frame Do you have any information at all - where they may have settled etc ? There may be family histories published in their location. Church records - Homestead ? Vital events - Cemetery records - all are valuable sources of information There are quite a number of William Whites who have obtained Western Land Grants - perhaps you will find your William - Homestead records can be obtained at the Provincial Archive for the Province. http://www.archives.ca/02/02011102_e.html Passenger Lists can be searched - at the Latter Day Saints Family History Centres - Provincial Archives etc etc - but there are so many . In Canada - we had the National Registration of All Canadians over the age of 16 years. This information is available - the cost is $ 48.15 Cndn - all but $5.00 returned if information not found. http://www.tbaytel.net/bmartin/natreg.htm http://www.statcan.ca/english/IPS/Data/93C0006.htm National Archive of Canada: http://www.archives.ca/02/0201_e.html If you know the Province where the family settled - perhaps subscribing and posting to the Mail list for that Province would be helpful. http://lists.rootsweb.com/index/intl/CAN/ As well - the GenWeb http://www.rootsweb.com/~canwgw/html/e-index.html sites for the various Provinces are an excellent source of information - No subscriptions required - Post a Query - no mail received unless in response to your posting. Wishing You Much Luck With Your Research. Happy New Year 2003. Where do you live? If you live in Canada you can access the census films, to 1901, at libraries that have micro film readers. If they don't have the films in the library you can get them through interlibrary loans. Talk to your local librarian. Or you can go to the nearest LDS Church, they have a family history room open to everone for family research. If they don't have the films you want they will order them from Salt Lake.
