Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/7aB.2ACEAE/538.1 Message Board Post: Hello Cheryl, In New Brunswick, official birth certificates necessary for legal and other important purposes are issued by the Department of Health and Wellness, Vital Statistics. On how to apply for a birth certificate, you can view their web site at : http://www.gnb.ca/0379/apply-e.asp you'll also find all kinds of useful info. Also, you may want to spend some time at the Provincial Archives of New Brunswick at : http://archives.gnb.ca/Archives/EN/OLS-e.aspx?Section=1 you might find some of your Mac\McKinnon ancestors. I searched the databases, and I found some Mac\Mckinnons. You have to type the name in one word though, no space between the Mac\Mc and Kinnon. Finally, there is the New Brunswick GenWeb at : http://www.rootsweb.com/~cannb/ Hope this helps, Esther

    3. Hi, The Following should be of help: Depending on the time frame you are researching. You may be able to obtain at least some of the registrations through the Provincial Archive - Rather than Vital Stats [ thus saving you a few $'s]. http://archives.gnb.ca/Archives/EN/default.aspx Search Births Online to 1907 - at: http://archives.gnb.ca/APPS/GovRecs/RS141A5/Default-e.aspx?PageLoad=SearchForm NB.Cemeteries: http://archives.gnb.ca/APPS/NBCemeteries/Default-e.aspx?PageLoad=SearchForm Marriages: http://archives.gnb.ca/APPS/GovRecs/RS141B7/Default-e.aspx?PageLoad=SearchForm There may be Volunteers at the Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness Site - who may be able to help.search Public Record - births, marriages deaths released as Public Record from Vital Stats to the Archive: http://www.raogk.org/newbrunswick.htm The following from the National Archive of Canada site: <Snip> New Brunswick In New Brunswick, birth records from 1888 to 1905, marriage and death records from 1888 to 1950, and some incomplete church and civil records prior to 1888 are in the custody of the Provincial Archives of New Brunswick, P.O. Box 6000, FREDERICTON, N.B., E3B 5H1. Some on-line databases are available on their Internet web site. Birth records after 1905, and marriage and death records after 1950 are still in the custody of the Vital Statistics Office, Health and Community Services, P.O. Box 6000, FREDERICTON, N.B., E3B 5H1. For official certificates of births, marriages and deaths from 1888 to the present, contact the Vital Statistics Office. <snip> VITAL STATS- NEW BRUNSWICK: http://www.gnb.ca/0051/0379/index-e.asp http://www.gnb.ca/0379/certificates-e.asp ********REMEMBER THAT YOU ALWAYS WANT TO REQUEST THE LONG FORM - REGISTRATION******* The Certificate [short form] is a basic extract of information from the Registration. The Certificate is good for proof of an event / I.D. - but of little use in family research. The Registration contains all information required at the time of the event. Death Regs. depend greatly on the knowledge of the informant for accuracy. Hope this will be of some help. Happy New Year 2003. 1. [CGW] FLAVIA (FLAVIE) BISAILLON
    2. Trying to confirm some info I got regarding FLAVIA (FLAVIE) BISAILLON. I believe that she was born somewhere in Canada. There was a witness to her wedding in 1862 in New York at St. Joseph's. The name was AMABILE BISAILLON and Hubert Lanctot. The info I received was that her parents may be AMABLE BISAILLON and MONIQUE BROSSARD. (There also was a brother named Amable). Flavia/Flavie married Francois-Esaie Lancto (Lanctot/Loncto). She died between 1867 - 1870. She was definately dead in Dec. 1870 as Francois remarried to my great, great grandmother..and the wedding annoucment indicated that he was a widower. (Flavia/Flavie was his first wife but not my great great grandmother) ( Flavia/Flavie and Francis did have three children. Esther, Phoebe and Esaie, jr.. ) .. I would like to just have some more info date of birth/place and her parents... .can anyone help?
