    1. [CGW] SIDNEY EARL NEAL b.10/02/1834
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: NEAL Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/7aB.2ACEAE/664 Message Board Post: I am seeking any information on Sidney Earl Neal, b. 10/2/1834 , possibly in Canada. He was known to be in Mount Vernon, Illinois in 1859 where he had a son, James Wescott Neal, b. 9/13/1859. I have no information on Sidney's parentage or who his wife was at that time. She died by 1864 and Sidney married Hannah Mariah Jones, on 5/19/1864 in Winnebago County, Ill. On his census records of 1870, in Minnesota, Sidney Neal states that he was born in Canada and his parents were born in Canada. On his census records in 1880 in MN, Sidney Neal states that he and his parents were born in NY! Is there anyone who has his name on their records somewhere? Are there any connections to the Neal family in Canada? Any information is appreciated! Thank you Valerie

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/7aB.2ACEAE/82.1.1 Message Board Post: The surname Minall originated in Wiltshire, England, where the village of Mildenhall to this day is known by local people as Minal. The surname is found both as Minall and Mildenhall and proliferated in the communities along the valley of the River Kennet from about 1525, though the name Mildenhall occurs in early archives from the 12th century. Quaker members of the Mildenhall/Minall family of Ramsbury, Wiltshire sailed with William Penn in 1682 to help found Pennsylvania, changing their name to Mendenhall. The Minall family of Bucklebury, Berkshire, were respected yeoman farmers and survived there for about 200 years from c.1640. I am a descendant.

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/7aB.2ACEAE/646.1.1 Message Board Post: Hi, The LaBine branch of the family are descendants of Pierre Guildry dit LaBine, son of Claude Guedry. During the Acadian deportations, this family group were sent to Boston Massachusetts. Then moved to St.Jacques de l'Achigan in Quebec about 1767. With the passage of time, various members moved on. Some of them went to Montreal, Quebec, others to Ontario, while others to the United Sates. One branch of the family moved to Michigan and they spell their surname "LaBean". The reason they figure that the name changed, was that a census taker came through and spelled it that way and they have not changed it back. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/7aB.2ACEAE/653.1 Message Board Post: On the 1881 census (available on-line at www.familysearch.org) There was only one Pierre Duhamel born 1857 He was the son of Pierre Duhamel & Lucie of St-Sulpice, L'Assomption Co. Québec. Pierre & Lucie are most likely Pierre Duhamel & Lucille Rivest married on 30 Jul 1855 in Joliette. There are two matches for Celina Giguere. One was the daughter of Adolphe Giguere & Hermine of Ste-Anne, Montmorency, Québec. The other was the daughter of Leon Giguere & Mélanie Durand of Lavaltrie, Berthier Co. Québec. Since Lavaltrie & St-Sulpice are neighbouring parishes, the later is more likely the right one.

I believe one of them to be deceased. They had an older brother George who passed away in 97. He was adopted by his Aunt Virginia Mcbee. There also was a girl but don't know her name may have started with an R. They grew up in the Tulsa area I believe and were probably born in the 50's. Their mothers name was Doris and father was George N. Avey. My husband Steve is their father's last and only child by his last marriage before he passed. If anyone knows anything please respond. George their father passed away in Norton Kansas in June 1962 when Steve was 18 months old. Any help would be appreciated.

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/7aB.2ACEAE/649.1 Message Board Post: Hello Sharon: I have found Joseph Euclide Bazinet who married on 15 May 1911 at St-Boniface, Julienne Dumont d.o. Octave Dumont and Asemia Boutoile. He was the son of Isaïe Bazinet and Hermine Lapalme. This latter couple was not married in St-Boniface nor in another 15 towns of MB. Marriage record not found in Québec either. Could have been married elsewhere in MB or in Ont or elsewhere. I have a Hermine Lapalme who married Avila (Ovila) Lafontaine on 14 Jun 1881 at St-Mathieu de Beloeil. This could be a completely different person from the wife of Isaie but it could be a first marriage of that woman if she had been married before marrying Isaie. Sorry for not being of greater help but in Hull we have very limited documentation for Ontario and the Prairies. Jean-marie Hull,Québec
