Hello, This is my first posting to this List. For this morning, I would just like to mention some of the surnames I am researching which have ties to Canada: KERR and HENDERSON families arriving in Argenteuil County, Quebec Province, Canada, in 1825. William and Samuel HENDERSON had already married and started their families in Ireland. Patrick and John KERR had already married and started their families in Ireland. Elizabeth KERR married Levi MILLER in Canada after they arrived. (Group consisted of four KERR siblings and two (or 3) HENDERSON siblings.) LEWIS and CORKILL siblings arriving in Nova Scotia in 1874 as "British Home Children." There were 2 LEWIS children and 5 CORKILL / CORKHILL siblings arriving at Ages 14 to 3. My main research of 8+ years is on the surname, KIDDER. I have an interest in ..everything KIDDER. But, my ancestor, Calvin KIDDER, left New Hampshire/USA to travel to New Brunswick, Canada, around 1783. He settled in St. Stephen, NB, and married there in 1798. **If anyone would like to learn more about the "British Home Children," please visit this web site: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~britishhomechildren/ **The majority of my ancestors arrived in North America in the 1600's and settled in the Massachusetts Bay Colony (including KIDDER). Thank you for your time. Betty (near Lowell, MA, USA) "There are two lasting bequests we can give our children; one is roots, the other is wings." Hodding Carter, Jr.
