Surnames: Gagnon and LeBlanc Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/7aB.2ACEAE/694.1.1 Message Board Post: Thank you for your reply. A hint from fellow genealogist lead me too. www.familysearch.org. I found the family in a 1881 Canadian Census. I was unable to find them because their names are spelled differently. Michel (Martial) LeBlanc age 25 Mathilda (Matilda) LeBlanc age 24 Welly age 5 (male) Mary age 3 Anna (Annie) age 2 We didnt know that Annie had siblings this was a surprise for both my husband and I. And I would have never thought to look for Michel as Martial or Annie as Anna...... I knew that names were spelled differently but I guess I have to look more closey at everyone and dates that could be. For instance had Annie's birthdate abt: 1881 On the census of 1881 its says she is 2 . Again thank you for looking me :) I keep looking on a regular basis on all the free genealogy sites. Thanks again ~Jaime~

I suspect that they were also married in Laurence or in that area. Could you check the marriage repertory of Laurence for Mathilda and Michel marriage. That will provide the name of the parents of both; this extra info might enable us to make the link with the ancestor married in Québec. At that point, it will be an easy job to find the ancestry. au revoir, Jean-Marie

John Berry was born about 1808 in Mallow, Co. Cork, Ireland and came to Canada in1842. The notes say brother James died in 1874 and buried at McIntosh Church. I am unsure if this was John's brother but it seems to imply that it was. Is this the same James??
