He had two sisters: Hilary and Veronica Pugh.At some point, his son(who was in the forces) came to England and made contact with Hilary ( who was married to John( also known as Jack) Carter, they were living in Bewdley,Worcestershire, England.Cecil would have been my Great Uncle so the son who visited would have been my Second Cousin. My Grandmother, Hilary Carter could not visit Cecil and always wondered about him. The story went that Cecil was taken from the front garden of his Aunts house by the Gypsies( as Cecil's mother was of Gypsy origin).Cecil's Mother and Father married and lived in Cookley, Worcestershire,England but the Mother left the family home and ran back to the Gypsy way of life. Cecil also had a little Brother(known as Billy(short for William?) and possibly a brother called Cedric. If anyone recognises this story from their family history, please get in to! uch.

I know many records have been lost, but any help you can offer would be a great help. Thanks. Sean

What I know: Joseph Wheeler was born Fr. Canadian 1862-66. He immigrated to Westborough, MA (thru Burlington, VT) in May 1846. He is listed in 1850 census as Joseph Heroux. I do not know where and when he married. I would estimate it was between 1846-1853. He married Catherine Kelley (Ireland). His first son William was born in 1853 and William's birth listing is "William Heroux 2/25/1853 son of Joseph Heroux and Catherine Kelly." They CHANGED their names around 1853-55 to Wheeler. Joseph *Heroux* Wheeler's death certificate (8/1904) lists his parents as: Clemont Heroux Margaret Millat What I do know: In August of 1896 Joseph went to Canada to visit his "aged father who was 97 years old" That would mean his father (? Clemont Heroux) was born abt 1799. So his father (?Clemont) was born 1799 approx and died I would suspect sometime between 1896-1900 (if you believe he lived to 100). I have no other information about Joseph's Canadian family. Please help. Thank you Kathi

You are searching for information about your grandmother. What research have you done in the U.S.A. [the first place to start your research]. Was your Grandfather a Canadian or an American? If American - working in Canada - do you know where ? This would give you a lead in finding the place of marriage. Your grandmother died in childbirth in 1905. Have you searched for and obtained the Birth Registration [long form birth certificate for the child -certificate issued even if the child was stillborn]. Were there other children born? Have you obtained their birth registrations - long form birth certificate.? Have you searched for and obtained the Death Registration for your grandmother ,deceased in 1905? {The long form registration - should show her date and place of birth, names of parents etc - all depends on the knowledge of the informant - her husband should have at least some very basic facts]. Have you searched to see if there was an obituary published. Obits can be very basic - or - quite informative. naming family members - siblings etc and their locations. Have you searched for - a Border Crossing Record - this will have information about everyone crossing from Canada to the U.S.A. - check with the Latter Day Saints - or State Archive - or National Archive in Washington D.C. Property records - may show your grandmothers name. Hospital records - may still be archived - you may be able to gain access to same - site freedom of information. Funeral Home/ Cemetery Records - may be of some help. Funeral Homes usually take the personal information about the deceased. In Canada - a search of the 1901 Census - but one needs to know a location. In the U.S.A. - a search of the Census. 1900 - just in case the family was already in Kansas at that time. Wishing you much luck with your research Cheers, Stella

Annie is not with the family in the 1881 census for Canada, so am guessing she married Daniel HONEYBALL abt. 1878/79, but I don't know where. My great-great grandfather DAVID MITCHELL was born in Argyle, Scotland, sometime in the early to mid-1800's. He immigrated from there and eventually settled (at least for a time) in Rochester, New York. He married a woman named ANORA NEUNAN (I'm not sure if that's the correct spelling), and in either 1863 or 1865 they had a son named MORTIMER DAVID MITCHELL. I know this information is sketchy at best, but if any of this sounds familiar, please let me know. Thanks.
