I need some help in confirming if Esther's name is Houle or Houde and have better dates. They had three sons: Alexander, Gilbert and Francois-Esaie (who is my gggrandmother) is there anyone that can help... seem to be hitting a brick wall and my head is starting to hurt... please..

You have the correct spelling of both Leeburn and Echo Bay, they are located in the province of Ontario in the Algoma District. Sault Ste. Marie is probably the closest place you would find on a map. Echo Bay is about 16km east of the Sault and the Trans Canada highway runs right thru it. Leeburn is out in the "country". Very beautiful area. If you are still looking hope that helps.

I am just the good samaritan along the road. I am glad to see Franco-Americans look for and find their ancestors in Québec. I help because the right research instruments may not be available south of the border. My related surnames are Matteau, Girard, Morin and Harrison. Let me make another attempt with the extra info provided in your last two e-mails. Golf and landscaping work seems to take most of my spare time these days. Sometimes, some people were married in the USA, returned to Québec and may have gone back to the USA. Jean-Marie
