I hope it works! Under the tool bars on top, click on address box. Delete whatever is there. Type in EUGENE CHENEVERT You should have a screen CRIME AND PUNISHMENT. Scroll down to the second story, THE ERLAND'S POINT MASS MURDER. I FOUND IT!!!! I FOUND IT!!!!! I FOUND IT. THERE IS EVEN A PICTURE OF EUGENE AND PEGGY. Now, here is your second job! Less important. In the address box again, type in SURNAME NAVIGATOR (I don't know if you use this site, I just about live on it besides LDS.) On the top half, click on the USA Under SURNAME type CHENEVERT and enter. This will bring up about 8-10 screens. Wait for everyone to load, it will take a few minutes. (If all screens are blank it means it's too busy, try later) I think the first screen is the 1880 census of the USA. Move each screen over, enlarge it, search if you wish BUT I want you to click off each screen until you reach the Social Security Death Index Search Results. There are 330 Chenevert. Scroll down, it might even be the next page, but there is one Edward Chenevert, born Feb. 3, 1895, died Sept. 1968, Fort Lauderlade, Fl. S.S.D.I. 006145065, issued in Maine. Would it not be nice if this was our Edward. This is why on one email I asked if you knew when he was born. If time wise this is not him, keep looking on the Results there may be more Edwards. I FOUND IT I FOUND IT I FOUND IT I will be away tomorrow, but I will check my email first thing to see if you made out OK. Ciao for now. Sandy I FOUND IT (Eugene) AND IT WAS SO EASY WHY DIDN'T YOU DO THIS YEARS AGO? ha ha he he

I have an Olivier Gilbert married to a M. Bourque in 1893 but that cannot be the one. I know that the Jalberts were aka as Gilberts; so, Gilbert might also be known as : Jalbert. Another route. Now back to the story. I have searched as much as I know through the newspapers and the area historical society states they have no resource regarding either one. I have spoken to the newspaper in the area, the historical society and no one seems to know much. There is a man that has written a book about the area in Wa and has included the story about Eugene in his book. However, he has several facts wrong and has not been much help. I have asked him to send me any information but since he won't sell a book he has not. Edward, just seems to have fallen off the edge of the earth. I cannot find a single thing on him, Well we'll see what we can do from here.Ideas are WELCOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(caps mean I am desperately begging for help) Talk soon, Vicki

Only one Joseph Sicord married to a Rachel. INDIVIDUAL RECORD: JOSEPH SICORD BIRTH YEAR: 1850 BIRTHPLACE: Canada AGE: 30 OCCUPATION: Farmer MARITAL STATUS: Married RACE: White HEAD OF HOUSEHOLD: Joseph Sicord RELATION: Self FATHER'S BIRTHPLACE: Canada MOTHER'S BIRTHPLACE: Canada SOURCE INFORMATION: Census Place: Sheridan, Newaygo, Michigan Family History Library Film: 124598 NA Film Number: T9-0598 Page Number: 382C HOUSEHOLD RECORD SICORD, Joseph, Relation: Self Marital Status: Married Gender: Male Race: white Age: 30 Birthplace: Canada Occupation: Farmer Father's Birthplace: Canada Mother's Birthplace: Canada SICORD, Rachel J. Relation: Wife Marital status: Married Gender: Female Age: 16 Birthplace: Pa Occupation: Keeps House Father's Birthplace: PA Mother's Birthplace: PA SOURCE INFORMATION: Same as above Research: 1881 Canadian Census By typing in only the surname Sicard, the results were 200+ Sicard / Secord names. I believe they were all in the Province of Quebec. 1880 USA Census Surname Sicard, results in 50+ Secor/Sicard/Secord names. 1 family in Iowa, 1 Family in Maine 1880 USA Census Surname Pittman, Pennsylvania, results were over 200+ names. Now, we know the parents of both Joseph and Rachel are in these lists somewhere, but the question is where? If you could find where Joseph and Rachel were married, the church will have the parents names on the marriage papers. Do you know if Joseph or Rachel had siblings? This would help a bit! Ciao for now. Sandy

You pass with flying colours!! Excellent job. Did you find all this info on LDS? Going back is the easy part, I'm stuck at coming forward over in England and Norway. Regarding the two (1) murders, about the only ideas I have are Library or Newspapers. Boy, do I wish I had the knowledge to research these !!! There is one other web site I sometimes use. It is called Surname Navigator. Do you use this? Let me know. Ciao for now. Sandy.
This is my first attempt at searching the 1881 Canadian Census and need a a bit of advice from readers who are experienced in using the Census. a. under which Province does Saskatchewan appear? b. The name I am researching is VANDALE if I do an "exact spelling search" for all Provinces I get a total of 73 VANDALEs. 60 in "Quebec" ie 7 families totalling 57 plus 3 Familes where the maiden name of the wife only was VANDALE. In the Northwest Territories the 13 VANDALES listed belonged to only two(2) familes. My question is would that be "all" the VANDALES living at the time of the Census? or is it possible that some areas were not included in the Census? c. There are numerous VANDALLS listed, were name changes common at that period? or was it usually due to transcription errors? Any clarification on any of the above would be greatly appreciated Thank you Stan - Brisbane - Australia
