However, I cannot find a marriage record for Marcelline to a Gougeon about 20 years later. However, I have another source to check. My grandfather (died in 1970) was Frank Matthews of Kitchener. In a letter I found he writes his mother's (Elizabeth Dempsy) mother was Eleanor Swackhammer. In that case Eleanor was married to Francis Dempsy. But that is not what I am finding on line so far. I also found other letters concerning an inheritance and there are Walkers involved. It seems there was some dispute. At another time I remember going with my Dad and my grandfather to visit a Swackhammer in Hamilton who was none too friendly and did want to share any family information. Can you shine any light on all this? It would be much appreciated. Something is not right somewhere. Also if you can quote any sources that I could check that would also be helpful. He had children by a Lillian Allison. My father, Erick Emmanuel Allison was born in 1921 in Mocho, Clarendon, Jamaica (West Indies). William Allison was a horse trainer who often worked in Cuba/Panama. He had children by another woman besides Lillian Allison. Some of his children may have been born in Cuba/Panama. My maternal great grandmother was a Theresa Dalton (sp?). She gave birth to a Gabriel Clarke in c1907. It is believed that Gabriel's father was killed in a mine in Cuba/canal construction in Panama. Theresa Dalton then married a ? Bryan and had four further children. When Mr Bryan died she had a child by a Mr McClary. Theresa Dalton had two brothers Dee and Deacon Simeon Dalton. Deacon Simeon Dalton established the Whitehorses Baptist Church. I am trying to find out more about my grandparents eg. dates of birth, death, where buried, marriage, siblings, other children they had, their parentage etc.
