Perhaps posting to the Message Board for Ontario - Searched Online White Pages Directory MyTelus.com http://www.mytelus.com for the DEWS surname finds only 7 listings in Canada 5 in Ontario - 2 in Alberta - Perhaps some family connected? Do you have an Obituary for Isaac LAKE - dcd in Middlesex Canada in 1928.? An Obituary May Mention - the names and locations of other family members at that time - Perhaps the daughters had married etc? Wishing you much luck with your research.Cheers,Stella Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: lddrover Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.canada.cangenweb/5091.1.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I don't have a birth date on Herbert. I ordered a copy of his marriage certificate in hopes of finding it on there, but no luck. The census gives a birth date of about 1893 in Guisboro, Yorkshire England. He married Daisy Florence Dodd in 1915 (Godstone 2a 391 Q1). They had four childern, Edith Amelia, Audrey, Charles Ronald (my grandfather) and Leonard. I haven't had a lot of time to spend on this, and being new to this kind of research, it hasn't gotten me very far down the road with the facts, however it is somewhere to start. My grandfather told us his father "Herbert" was Chief of Police, not sure if he meant in Ontario or England..... He is now deceased, otherwise this would be a much easier journey. Nice to hear back from you..... Laurie Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: bswise_1 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.canada.cangenweb/5284/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Looking for the sister of Gloria Wise. We believe she lives somewhere in Canada, along with our extended Jewish family. The family may be of Polish or Russian decent. Gloria was born in 1928 in New York. Gloria was raised by a foster family and the sister we're looking for was raised by their biological mother. Gloria and her sister have the same mother, but different fathers. Gloria moved from New York to California when she was 18, where she married Clarence Wise. Gloria and Clarence moved to a small town in Illinois in 1969, where Gloria still lives. We believe Gloria's maiden name might have been "Rosanne" or "Rosenblatt." The mother's name might be "Alice" and the sister's name may be "Roslyn", but we're not sure. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Barry Wise Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
