Could someone please update on what happened to Bill C-206? Also, specifically, how Bill Casey voted? I live less than three blocks from his office here and have been dogging him for the past six months on this issue. However, a thing called work keeps interfering with the census efforts! <G> Tom Lynch in Truro, NS ----- Original Message ----- From: Muriel M. Hi Tom. I just caught the tail end of things on CPAC yesterday but it appears that a motion to have second reading of Bill C-206 and for it to go to committee failed. Accessing Hansard this morning I found only 44 MPs voted in favour, with 178 voting against. Four MPs were 'Paired" which is a term I do not fully understand in regards to voting. 95 MPs did not bother to attend the vote. It would appear that not many of our MPs are in favour of making the operation of government more open. While it is debatable if Bill C-206 would have benefited our campaign directly, there was much in it that in my mind was desirable. Your MP, Bill Casey, voted in favour of the Bill. Happy Hunting.
