I would like to draw your attention to an article on the release of census records that appeared in the Ottawa Citizen of June 12. "Historians lobby to save 'treasure chest' of personal information" by Glen McGregor, Pages A8 and A9. The article is a very fair one and places the resasons that historians and genealogists are pressing for the release of the 1911 census in a favourable light. The role of genealogists in the efforts to save these records might have been covered more fully. Perhaps a letter to the editor or an approach to the article's author might help our cause.
