    1. [CCC] RELEASE THE REPORT
    2. Gordon A. WATTS
    3. 10 October 2000 Hon. John Manley. Minister of Industry Sir: I have just finished checking the Statistics Canada website, as I do daily, or more frequently. As usual, I was disappointed in failing to find any sign of the Report of the Expert Panel on Access to Historic Census. What causes your reluctance to release this Report to the Public? The print media has reported newly appointed Privacy Commissioner George Radwanski as telling a committee of the House of Commons that the Expert Panel favours allowing access to Historic Census. The Public, through their taxes, have paid for the time and efforts of the Expert Panel in doing their review and compiling their Report. You have had the Report for more than three months. The Public has a right to see what their money has paid for. I call on you again to immediately release the Report of the Expert Panel on Access to Historic Census to the public. Gordon A.
