    3. Good Morning Everyone, You people probably know that the chiefs in Canada do not want to release any more census records to the public. Myself, I need this to track if my grandparents were still there in 1901 as my father was born there in 1895. Can't find Ross grandparents listed any place although they lived and children were born in Halifax. (No records). Grandfather Ross said he built our home in Roslindale, MA 1880's but the Deed shows he bought it from a Minnie Gruff in 1923. So when did he land in Boston? Did he lie? Did he build it and move back to Halifax and later come to Boston? I am hoping when the 1911 census comes out I might gain information on this extended family. They do not show up in the 1881, 1891 census in Nova Scotia. They must have hid. [1901 is available] So, if you haven't peeked at the attached form to send in, maybe you would like to and get your spouses, friends, etc. to sign it. The more names the better to help prove the needs of the people. Thanks. The worst part about it is that they might be setting a precedence for the U.S. as we've heard rumors that the U.S. is looking into the peoples need to look into private information???? Betsy -------------------- The above letter was in answer to the following:- To all who sign petitions:- To find PETITIONS: <http://www.globalgenealogy.com/census/petition.htm> When you reach this site, the long list of available PETITIONS, in both languages, seems like a restaurant menu. Canadian Petitions are in both languages, French and English, and may be used only in the House of Commons. These are to be mailed to Gordon Watts, come in three different flavours: Word, WordPerfect and Text (from Gordon Watts). There is also a Canadian Petition for usage in the Senate. Non-Canadian Petitions are also in Word, WordPerfect and Text, may ONLY be used in the Senate. Mailing addresses, mine and Gordon's, are on petitions. A WORD OF CAUTION: Several petitions have been received that may not pass scrutineers. They are very PICKY (the only descriptive word I know) and if a bit of paperwork is not correct, they find the nearest File 13!! The Petitions ask one to PRINT the name, then write it, followed by address. Let's get these signed the right way -- I hope to pick up at least 100 signatures at a Sweet Adelines reunion this week!!
