I hope I am on the right list for this - Could anyone tell me what information is on the 1825 Montreal census? Where can I find it? Order pages from it? Thanks for any help Virginia
Hi Virginia. I am certain that if any of our listers is able to answer your question they will do so privately, however the purpose of the Canada Census Campaign mail list is essentially to provide a forum for those concerned with obtaining public access to Post 1901 census records in Canada. Questions and comments regarding this subject are more than welcome, however individual queries are not the purpose of the list. There are various groups that have indexed different census's, mostly locally for their own area and I would suggest the most likely way of finding these would be to join a mail list specific to Quebec and post your query there. This having been said, any Census for the year you specify would likely be a nominal one, listing only head of household and numbers, but not names, of any other people in that household, i.e. men, women, children over a certain age and children under that age. I wish you luck in your search. Happy Hunting. Gordon A.
