I appreciate hearing the views of those who support the release of this information. Many of my constituents, along with many other Canadians have been quite vocal in their support for releasing census records for research purposes.Genealogical research is increasingly important to many Canadians in search of their roots. Given the overwhelming support for the release of these records, I believe this must be recognized. I support the release of this information and will urge the Minister of Industry, the Honourable John Manley to proceed with the necessary changes. Thank you again for your letter.
