Thanx. Viola. ================= Hi Viola and all listers of CAN-SASKATCHEWAN:- The answer is: VERY DEFINITELY NOT!!!!!!! I am presuming you mean The Hon. John Manley, PC, MP, Minister of Industry -- the one who appointed the Expert Panel -- who gave him the report on June 30, 2000!!!!! [We have yet to read it!] E-mail: Hon. John Manley - MP <Manley.J@parl.gc.ca><Manley.J@ic.gc.ca> Mail: The Hon. John Manley, PC, MP / Minister of Industry / House of Commons / Parliament Buildings / Ottawa, Ontario / K1A 0A6 FREE postage if mailed in Canada. Both Canadians and Non-Canadians with roots in Canada (we are not asking if they have) are invited to write to him. Gordon Watts has been dealing with this part of the census campaign, but he is not subscribed to this list. However, you will likely receive a very clear, concise answer -- which may be posted! I receive all PETITIONS for the Senate, where Senator Lorna Milne has her Bill S-15, it has had second reading, is now in committee. Murray Calder has a duplicate Bill C-484, has only had first reading. Jason Kenney of Alberta has Motion M-160 for third hour of debate and vote Sept. 20. Of importance to the three prairie provinces is the fact the 1906 Canadian census SHOULD have been released in 1998 -- except the politicians decided otherwise. Check MEMORANDUM OF LAW by Lois Sparling, Alberta barrister at the following site:- http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Farm/7843/poll.html Also at the same site is THE MYTHS OF CENSUS by Gordon Watts - printable. Check: http://www.globalgenealogy.com/census/index6.htm There are a number of GOLD ticks for Saskatchewan, others need prodding. Imagine the 49th Parallel has disappeared -- although we have different governments, we all have the same interests and desires....one desire is the release of the post-1901 Canadian census records to National Archives for all of us to view (1911 in 2003 -- unless the 92-year period of time is changed as many hope). Please keep in touch -- ask either Gordon Watts or myself any questions, we will find the answers -- <gordon_watts@telus.net> Muriel M. Davidson <davidson3542@home.com> Canada Census Committee NOTE:- The invitation to write to Mr. Manley may be forwarded!!
