    1. [CCC] Census Release and YOUR Members of Parliament
    2. Muriel M. Davidson
    3. To all:- With about two weeks to go before we mark federal election ballots, now is the time to see YOUR Member of Parliament's thoughts about Post-1901 Canadian census release. As you all know by now, the elections caused the demise of Bill S-15 and C-484, but, with out help, and with possibly new numbers, we will continue to gain access to our heritage -- the census records. Check: http://www.globalgenealogy.com/census/index6.htm Gordon Watts forwarded the last bits of data and the scoreboard has been updated as of Oct. 23, 2000. The overall results at the time:- GOLD tick - YES = 109 RED X----------NO = 8 FENCERS---------- = 51 (included our Prime Minister) NO ANSWER ?? = 133 Total = 301 Leaders of the Canadian Alliance, Progressive-Conservative and NDP have sent memos of SUPPORT for census release. All candidates will be campaigning until Nov. 26 -- look over the scoreboard, and if YOUR MP is seeking re-election, plan to ask him/her about census support. Should you be carrying a petition for both House of Commons (Canadians only) or the Senate (both Canadian and Non-Canadian), do what I did -- I asked for his autograph!!! Otherwise, accept a verbal answer. Gordon Watts is making it easy for all of us to print the petitions -- no excuses! He accepts the House of Commons ones -- I take the Senate ones for Senator Lorna Milne. Tomorrow I hope to have a list of other Senators from across Canada -- people who work with Senator Milne -- all the same goal. Muriel M. Davidson <davidson3542@home.com> Brampton Centre riding!
