Hi Patty. In words of one syllable -- GO FOR IT!! It matters not where the signatures are collected so long as Canadians (or residents) with Canadian addresses sign the Canadian petitions and others sign the Non-Resident petitions. So long as you are careful to ensure the right people sign the right petitions it does not matter one bit where you are when they are signed. The line indicating where the signatures are collected is for the information of myself and Muriel only. It is how we know where to credit the signatures when totalling how many have come from each province etc. I have just had 159 signatures come from someone living in Montreal. He had collected signatures in four different provinces and so I credited each province with the signatures collected in each. I spent a week in the Salt Lake City library in 1997. One of these days I hope that I can finish going through the information I collected at that time. Have a great trip. Thank you for your continued support. Sorry it's not many but I have managed to get about a dozen signatures on each (Senate and House). Now I have another question or two for you: In a couple of weeks I will be heading to Toronto, Regina and Edmonton to visit friends and family. Can I use one petition for all even though they are in different provinces? I will be finishing up my holiday with a week long genealogy course in Salt Lake City. I will take petitions along as well. So long as I keep the non-residents' signatures on the proper form, can I collect Canadian citizen signatures while in the USA (note the form asks where the signatures were collected). I just want to make sure I don't get a whole bunch of signatures that some bureaucrat will decide to void because they are collected out of country.
