Well while I agree with David that this subject doesn't have much to do with release of census - it does show up the hypocritical attitude of the reigning power. Jim is right too though, that in bending over backwards with their political correctness the government has denigrated the very fiber that made Canada what it is. And who/picks up the pieces in the social injustices pepetrated on many of our population - yeah right! the churches. I personally do not have a problem with anyone not belonging to, paying lip service to, or otherwise having anything to do with any religion, BUT please allow me the right as well to make my choices without nasty slurs and comments. Greetings All As List Administrator I receive messages posted to the CCC list in both List Mode and Digest Mode. I have now seen posts by Freda and David referring to a post by dxn@nbnet.nb.ca directed to the CCC list with the subject line 'THE LAW IS THE LAW'. I have yet, however to receive the original post to which they refer and I will be checking with RootsWeb regarding this. This occurance makes me wonder what other posts may not be coming through. In administering the CCC list I have been very flexible in what I have allowed to be discussed as 'Off-Topic'. This particular post however is extremely 'Off-Topic' even by my flexible definition. This message had nothing whatsoever to do with Census, Genealogy or History I give fair warning to everyone subscribed to the CCC list that religion, and how the government (regardless of what country) has or has not dealt with religious issues is very definitely OFF-TOPIC for this list. I do not wish to see any further posts to the CCC list on this thread and I expect listers to respect my wishes regarding this. Taking this one step further -- if any lister feels that a post to the CCC list is 'off-topic' kindly let me, as list administrator, deal with it. Commenting online regarding an 'off-topic' post does nothing other than continue the thread. If you feel a topic is inappropriate, why would you ensure it continues by posting about it onlist? If you feel compelled to comment about such a post please do so privately to me. Happy Hunting. Gordon A. Watts List Administrator
