To all:- Should the government bill S-13, a bill to change the Privacy laws, ever reach Second Reading, it will possibly very quickly be passed onto the House Standing Committee on Industry, Science and Technology. In other memos, I gave members of the committee and by now I sincerely hope all in the area of that Member of Parliament has sent a letter requesting support and getting rid of the choking restrictions - mainly in Clause 8. WE need to let the above and all committee members know the Canada Census Committee members and many, many others are totally against the restrictions written into this bill. Clause 8 belongs in the garbage!! We do not need 20 years added on to present 92 years -- unless it is a new form of reverse mathematics! Send an e-mail, then print it, sign with complete address -- letting the above know your feelings. As the 1911 census was due to be released June 1, 2003, why must we have to resort to another federal lawsuit?
