To Walt Lastewka, MP:- As expected, the Members of Parliament are so concerned with dealing in all areas of their political party including financial gain, the LITTLE PEOPLE have been forgotten. By the LITTLE PEOPLE, I mean the millions in Canada and all parts of the world who waited patiently for June1, 2003 to roll around!! That WOULD be the date of 1911 census records release. As usual, researchers and the ordinary family member seeking a lost family member have been let down by the government. WE have learned the last couple days will be filled "with other governmental matters" -- did THEY not remember that S-13 is a government bill?? Are we happy and pleased with this news? Very definitely not! There is no way we should have to resort to court action to obtain what is desired -- OUR records!! NO, we will not accept this latest news quietly -- researchers have long memories! The 1911 census -- as a starter -- would be a great addition to the proposed ?LEGACY? -- many will never be able to visit it, whereas census records can be available in his or her hometown. Muriel M.
