Many thanks for the message, Beverley -- this is exactly how we all feel. Many of us, including Senator Lorna Milne, have other things to do, the Expert Panel had a good report, EXCEPT --Members of the Expert Panel felt the 1906 for the three prairie provinces should be released immediately (should have been 1998) --The Panel members had no problem releasing records UP TO 1918. WHAT would happen after 1918 -- if Senator Milne's and Murray Calder's PMBs are turned down? The next census we would see -- 2001-- would be 2094. I personally agree with all you have stated -- your message should be sent to all 301 MPs at http://globalgenealogy.com/census/index6.htm Muriel M. Davidson <davidson3542@home.com> Canada Census Committee member --------------------------------------------- I strongly believe that the 1911 census should be released just as all the others before. If we wish to change the rules then let's allow a "release of information" spot on all future ones for the generations of our ancestors to follow. I believe I have a right to know who my ancestors are and to keep this from me is an injustice and an insult to my ancestors. They meant for me to know but unfortunately like so many others, I didn't listen enough and when they died it was all too late. We, the people, the ones who elect you, have a voice in this matter and we wish to be heard. You only want statistics, we want our heritage rights. If it is decided that all those who passed before us have such a right to privacy, then we that are alive should have the same right and refuse to complete any further census.
