Many thanks for writing, Beverly -- many are responding with action -- none of us wish to see the blue ????, but often we are able to understand the Undecided. With your letter, as soon as Gordon Watts gets near a computer other than his laptop, I know Peter Stoffer will have something other than a blue ?. I am formerly from Nova Scotia -- very interested in all Nova Scotian Members of Parliament, regardless of party. Many thanks, Muriel M. Davidson <davidson3542@home.com> =============================================== A positive scenario for a change, I did e-mail my Member of Parliament, Peter Stoffer, regarding the acquisition to Census material for legitimate research purposes as he was one of those "undecided or uncommitted" members. I explained how in my personal circumstances, my grandmother had little formal schooling and with nine youngsters, little time to spend on daily diaries or family genealogy in the early 1900s. Also, there are many tracking the genetic anomalies Ms. Davidson mentioned, and the vital statistics, while not clarifying what deaths were from, in the case of young children and infants, or premature births, can bring patterning to light in some lines. I was, therefore, delighted to have a phone call from Mr. Stoffer during his haitus from Parliament last weekend thanking me for my detailed reasons for resolving the issue in favor of leaving statistics available. He said at that time only one sitting MP was still holding the hard line on shutting things down at the last debate. I advised Mr. Stoffer I would be obtaining a copy Parliamentary records pertaining to the debate to verify how he presented the views of his constituents and himself. I did this once before. I seldom input to this list, but in fairness there are some politicians who do not buy a pair of earplugs with their first federal cheque and stop listening to those who elected them. ================= Click on <http://www.globalgenealogy.com/census/index6.htm> Mail it to yourself so it is near at hand. I use the Copy and Paste method -- will explain if asked. Muriel <davidson3542@home.com>
