hi Muriel I'm forwarding this comment from the London England list. The poster is from British Columbia. Might be worth including in your Genetically Inherited Diseases info. I posted all my grandmother's maiden names up to my g.g.grandmother & got a reply the next day giving me information on what turned out to be that we had the same g.g.grandmother. I wrote back giving what info I had & one piece was that Sarah had been deaf from birth. It turned out that the other person had not known this and that I had solved a mystery. She told me her son had no hearing in one ear and only 40% in the other,a cousin has hearing problems, & 2 other cousins have children with hearing problems, one of whom has also been deaf since early childhood. She said she had always wondered if it was heredity and that now she knows it is for sure. Just thought I would pass this on as a matter of interest. Doris from British Columbia
