Hello Everyone, I just thought I would pass this along. Today in France the Unknown Soldier begins his journey home. On Sunday he will be interned in Ottawa with soil from each of the Provinces and Territories. The Minister of Veterans Affairs gave a very good speech at the Vimy Memorial including this line IT IS THE BIRTHRIGHT OF OUR CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN TO KNOW THEIR HISTORY The whole speech is on the Veterans Affairs web site. I for one think that if that soldier and all his fallen comrades, no matter what the war, could give their lives for our freedom, we should fight on to get the census released no matter what so that they are never forgotten. Newsworld will be covering the ceremony in Ottawa on Sunday, I will be watching and remebering all the members of my family and my husband family who served, and especially my great uncle John Henry Barnes who died November 2 1918, I won't forget no matter how much Mr. Phillips would like me to. Forgive me if I am morbid but my Dad served in World War two, he died 7 years ago and I miss him so much Jacquie Nex Sooke, British Columbia jacnex@home.com
