To all:- A large envelope arrived today -- and these always hold surprises!! Inside were two signed petitions, 47 signatures on each one, for the Senate of Canada and the House of Commons. [Gordon and I exchange petitions -- mine are for the Senate and go to Senator Lorna Milne]. Very possibly, by the time Parliamentary sessions begin October 4, we will be able to announce the House of Commons counterpart to Senator Lorna Milne, a staunch fighter for us since 1999. The signatures were collected at the September meeting of the Simcoe County Branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society. Many thanks, Rita!! Which genealogical society will top this number -- when signing, a person may sign both the Senate and House of Commons petitions, regardless of the ones previously signed.
