To all:- The latest update of July 25, 2000 showed the following:- FOR / YES-----------------87 AGAINST/NO---------- 6 NON-COMMITAL----52 NO RESPONSE-------156 ------------------------------------------- Of the 156 who have not bothered to answer even their constituents, at least 66 of these are in the Province of Quebec, mainly Bloc members. Ontario also has too many, mainly members of the Liberal Party. Only ONE province has a symbol for all 11 Members of Parliament and that is Nova Scotia. So far Wendy Lill and Bill Casey like the cute little pieces of fence -- do not seem to want to change -- SOMEONE ELSE needs to write to them. One with a GOLD tick is Scott Brison, MP of Kings-Hants riding, who has given it up so former MP Joe Clark will attempt to be elected. Other GOLD ticks are: PC - 3 and NDP = 5 == Total 9 Gold. Should anyone have Joe Clark's e-mail address, it would be nice to learn his viewpoint re release of post-1901 census records. New Brunswick does not look too bad, only two who need letters: Mr. Charles Hubbard and Mme. Angela Vautour. Three (3) are "fence-sitters" including Elsie Wayne, MP, Saint John, NB Others are GOLD: PC = 5; Liberal = 1, Total of 6. Skipping Quebec and Ontario this evening, we come to Manitoba: The Hon. Lloyd Axworthy and The Hon. Ronald Duhamel should have letters from their consitiuents, or from people of Manitoba. ONE person dares to show up with a RED X, FIVE have not answered. Gold ticks are divided: NDP = 3; Canadian Alliance = 1; PC = 1 and Liberal = 1 Total 6. On to Saskatchewan where The Hon. Ralph Goodale needs help in saying YES or NO. FOUR have not bothered to answer letters, there are NO RED Xs in this province. GOLD ticks are as follows: Canadian Alliance = 4; NDP = 5, Total = 9. YOU may check my figures by going to: http://www.globalgenealogy.com/census/index6.htm Please do not get too hung up about the political party -- there are several changes coming, especially in Ontario.
