    3. The following may be sent to further lists in Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick. To all:- Gordon Watts has spent many long hours updating the Member of Parliament Scoreboard, and as of Dec. 7, 2000 the totals were as follows:- GOLD Tick - meaning YES - in favour = 94 RED X - meaning NO - not in favour..= 7 Reclining on pieces of YES/NO Fences=47 Unknown, includes new MPs - ??????=153 As there are 301 Members of Parliament, when a vote on the proposed Private Member's Bill is due -- we SHOULD have the GOLD YES = 200++. That will allow for several off sick or vacationing, or whatever. Starting with NEWFOUNDLAND-LABRADOR - we find 5 ??? and 2 GOLD YES NOVA SCOTIA looks a bit better, 6 GOLD YES, Wendy Lill still on the YES/NO fence, and there are 4 ???? = total of 11 PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND has 2 sitting on fences, 1 ???? and 1 GOLD YES NEW BRUNSWICK has 3 GOLD YES, 3 ????? and 4 on YES/NO Fences. Go to:- http://www.globalgenealogy.com/census/index6.htm Click on the name of the Member of Parliament at the left -- there could be a message left from our previous round. At the right, Gordon Watts has a place for you to send a message to the Member of Parliament. Should the message come back as "unknown", please let me know -- we will check the address. When you send a message, and receive an answer, please copy it to us. Please remember, POSTAGE IS FREE -- hard-copy letters are read, the e-mails are sorted as to subject and COUNTED. When sending an e-mail, do one more thing: Print a copy of what you have put in the e-mail and send to Name of MP, House of Commons, Parliament Buildings, Ottawa, ON K1A 0A6 You will likely receive the reply " forwarded to Mr. ????" [hope the reply copies have been changed by now - you might be lucky, and get an original] I suggested to Gordon we give the "forwarded" ones a purple arrow!!! More another time -- remember this site may be accessed other ways -- a stylized flag logo, a one line sentence re Post-1906 Census, many sites are being linked every day -- let us know if YOU would like a census link. Looking for active mailings -- and do not forget PETITIONS!!!!! We need these for the First Reading by both Senator Lorna Milne and Murray Calder, MP. No date or number until the Parliament resumes -- you will be told. Muriel M.
