To all:- When I thought about a Christmas gift for my aunt, 98 last April, I had to be content with Bell Canada telephone gift certificates, which can be used on the M T & T system. The gift my aunt desired was release of the 1911 Canadian census, but this possibility was stopped by the election. Reason: My aunt, the last of her family, was born April 25, 1902 in Bucksport,Maine, and arrived in Liverpool in 1909. Family included my mother, now deceased. The 1911 census would have been the FIRST Canadian census on which my aunt's name would have appeared. Way back in 1970s, I was introduced to the wonderful history stored in our Canadian census -- family groupings, genealogy -- my aunt taught me how important these were. Now I am unable to give her the Christmas gift she desired. With her 99th birthday in April, I may be fortunate! Let's get together and support anyone trying to help us obtain our history! Muriel M.
