To all:- There have been a number of e-mails asking about INFORMATION ON VARIOUS CENSUS RECORDS -- the questioned asked by enumerators, before the government decided to ask us to do a "mail in". Go to: http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Farm/7843/poll.html This is a coast-to-coast-to-coast genealogy site (of the future after census). At present Bryan Keddy and I have a number of census sites, editorials, in addition to genealogical sites. Among these is Marlene Simmons' http://www.virtuel.qc.ca/simmons/CENSINFO.htm The questions in 1825 are not many, as compared to the many asked in 1901. We understand there could be more questions with the 2001 census -- even about gay, homosexual and other relationships -- that is their business, unless they hurt someone in a protest -- one in every family!!! By 1881, 1891 and definitely by 1901 we found questions about insanity and related problems. Many have disagreed about this -- I do not and wish all names of deceased residents of county homes, etc. would be made public. In many cases, we did not LOSE our family members -- due to circumstances he or she was placed in a county home for care, e.g. dementia or other. Marlene Simmons has not updated the site since 1996 -- there will be nothing to add until the new 2001 census is received. I have wondered HOW the governmental people expect us to fill out this new census, when the governing body is holding back release of Post-1901 records. What is the usual saying "We wanted them yesterday!" Muriel M. Davidson <davidson3542@home.com>
