I think that Canada didn't start keeping records until around 1908 - but am not sure. Seems to me someone posted the dates for border crossings last year?? Did you try Cda-US-Immigration archives. Search it using border crossings and see what comes up. You might want to try finding the birth of John Bench/DuPerrier in Auburn, NY to see who his parents were. Post asking SKS to do a look up using his birthdate from his attestation papers. Just a suggestion. Both Saskatchewan and Alberta became Provinces in 1905 and until that time census information is listed for them under the Territories. Did you check the Canada 1906 special census for DuPerrier & Bench names? I had so much trouble finding my Smith family in Manitoba Knew where they were, etc. but couldn't find them in the Manitoba Census. Then discovered that area of Manitoba didn't join the Province until 1912 so they were under the Territories too.
