    3. Hi again, Just a quick note to ask how many enjoy - finding cousins ! And, do you come from a large family and have many cousins, or do you come from a small family and only have a few cousins? Because KIDDER is my main research (along with spouses' surnames), and I've been learning about the families in Calais and Princeton, Maine, for over 15 years, I've found many descendants of them. Along the Maine / New Brunswick border there was Calvin KIDDER (1765-1799) and his only child, Joseph "Calvin" KIDDER (1799-1891) (aka Calvin KIDDER), so I'm always looking for more descendants of "the two Calvin's." In fact I just found another one last month. One son of Calvin (b1799) was Joseph KIDDER who was my gr-gr-grandfather. I have a few old photos of him - because his daughter-in-law in MA used to go up to visit him in Princeton, ME. But, I have no picture of Joe's wife, "Clara" KIDDER, or of any other member of the family. So, I wrote a letter to the Princeton Library and sent copies of a few photos. I asked if they had photos to share. Turned out? The Librarian was a KIDDER descendant ! :o) And, she actually went out and took a photo for me - of the KIDDER gravestone in the town. I've been wanting that for 15 years . :o) * When I find these descendants, I usually refer to them as "distant cousins" or "very distant cousins." I'll go find a "cousins' chart" and see what I should be calling them. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cousin On quick look I'm not finding the "cousin chart" which I've found to be the easiest to look at. Maybe it's one of these: http://www.cyndislist.com/cousins.htm http://stellar-one.com/genealogy/cousins.htm That's all for this morning ! Betty (near Lowell, MA, USA) P.S. How many have written up a "fan chart" ?? http://www.thetreemaker.com/samples/cousins-chart/family-genealogy-record.html P.S.2 One of my genealogy frustrations? 4-5 years ago a man e-mailed me and said he wanted to make up a "family tree" for his best friend. Once he had the information, he was going to write it up on a "chart" that could be put in a frame - and hung on the friend's wall. I had some basic information on my KERR and HENDERSON gr-gr-gr-grandparents in Argenteuil Co., Prov. of Quebec, and I told him some of what I knew. We corresponded for a few weeks, and then? I never heard from him again ! He had told me that he had some basic information himself, and, when he had a chart put together, he would send me a copy of it ! He didn't ! I also heard that some of my mother's cousins had done up a family-tree (related to the above man). And they won't "share." I saw one cousin at a few "wakes" and we discussed it. I was supposed to go visit her and never had the opportunity. And, then she passed. I wrote to her husband (2nd husband), and he said he would come visit me. But, he didn't say he would "share." I offered to meet him at his local library, and he didn't want to do that. So, sometimes - you can't "get" that information ! Betty (near Lowell, MA, USA) P.S. I've been writing slow-mail letters to different KIDDER's near Calais, ME, for 15 years. And, they just wouldn't correspond with me ! A few years ago someone explained: The people in that area? "Won't even their mouth for their dentist !!"
