I know I was excited to find that my older sister had some of the family pictures on our Mom's side. When Mom died in 1988 my dad said kids take what you want I don't need the pictures of your mom's side of the family. I thought my sister in law then got all the pictures. And by now my brother has been divorced twice and his first wife does not communicate with any of us anymore since the divorce. So thru my sister and pestering them about old pictures. We were able to connect up a lost sibling of my grandmother. This was very exciting to us. I emailed the pictures to all of my cousins on that side of the family and now my brothers children at in their 20's and never knew their relatives on my mom's side because she died so young at 62yrs and her baby sister died at at age 49yrs and her one brother died also before my mom. So they never got to meet and visit with our cousins and aunts and Uncle. They missed meeting some really nice people. So now I am emailing PDF files to all of them with the family group info and pedigree charts so they can put names with faces. I was lucky enought to stumble on a tree on Ancestry.com that has my Dad's Myres side of his family and she also has some Adams' info and some gravestones and 1 picture of the Myres we started from here in America. He is from germany and I have hit a brick wall at him. Joyce --- On Sun, 8/9/09, Betty <bbffrrpp@comcast.net> wrote: From: Betty <bbffrrpp@comcast.net> Subject: [CAN-USA-MIG] My Grandmother's Story? HOORAY !!!! To: can-usa-migration@rootsweb.com Date: Sunday, August 9, 2009, 9:41 AM Hello, I've been reminded that I should have shown my excitement -- when I told you about the "old photos" we now have -- which pretty much show that the Adoptive couple of my grandmother "were" related to her. So on this early-morning message, I'll say, HOORAY !! YIPPEE !! FINALLY !! :o) I see that yesterday's early morning brain also caused a typo or 2. :o( I have 2 excuses for not being overly excited. One is that I have known in my heart for over 5 years that the Dexter couple "were" related to my grandmother. That is why I've researched their ancestors for over 5 years. That would have been DEXTER / ALLEN and CLARK / MANCHESTER of 1700's RI, CT, MA. (Through the MANCHESTER / TOMPKINS couple, I'm told there is a "Mayflower" ancestor.) One problem, IF I had ever started typing up a data base of my ancestors, how do you include people who you "think" is an ancestor? :o) My other excuse is that I've had many things going on in my extended family this summer, and I've got many things to think about. So I'm more tired than usual. I've even volunteered to help solve a "neighborhood problem" where I live. What's that old expression? Too many irons in the fire - or something like that? (On the BBC Show, "Cash in the Attic," right now, they are showing a man's large collection of "historic IRONS." One of them is a special iron for -- curling ribbon !) Have a pleasant week ! I found that I was the holder of many family pictures from my mother's side, the Meddaughs. What I didn't know is that I had a picture that solved a years long puzzle for the Meddaughs and Thibaudeaus in Canada. They knew there was a marriage, but couldn't find the answer to who married whom. They were my great grandparents, and I had pictures. I shared those on line, and we all had fun sharing the genealogy. They had the beginnings, and I didn't; I had the end, and they didn't. Now we have it all. Thanks to my mom taking the time to sit with my grandpa Meddaugh and put names on all the picture he and she could figure out, I was able to share the pictures with many other Meddaughs out there I had never met. I had pix of their ancestors, and they are now all on line for Sanilac county, Michigan, where they lived for many years. Since then, since my email address is attached to the pictures on the website, I've heard from many 'cousins' out there, who are trying to track down our various branches. I've shared genealogy with them, and pictures. They seem to disappear after they have their information, but at least I know they are out there, with the answers! Let no one ever say of you, And say it to your shame, That all was always beauty here, that is, until you came. --- On Sun, 8/9/09, joycewetherbee@sbcglobal.net <joycewetherbee@sbcglobal.net> wrote: From: joycewetherbee@sbcglobal.net <joycewetherbee@sbcglobal.net> Subject: Re: [CAN-USA-MIG] Old pictures To: can-usa-migration@rootsweb.com Date: Sunday, August 9, 2009, 10:29 AM I know I was excited to find that my older sister had some of the family pictures on our Mom's side.
