In 1860 U.S. Census Charlotte is living with her parents in La Prairie, Rock County, Wisconsin and is shown as 7 years old. There is an age discrepancy with birth shown on Family Search, but this is her and here her birth year is shown as 1853. In this census, she is shown as being born in Wisconsin so another discrepancy. Of course it is possible the lst Charlotte died and they had another daughter and gave her the same name - a Scottish custom. In the 1870 census, Charlotte is shown as 17 yrs old and believe the image showed she was born in New York. However, here the surname is spelled Simson. James SIMPSON death in Sept 1897 is shown on the Wisconsin Death Index but cannot find his nor his wife's Forbes (Forbice/Forbie) burials. I did check the burials in Rock County, Wisconsin. Charlotte's parents were both born in Shetland. Have Scotland info on the couple, but still looking for their marriage information. Possible it was an irregular marriage - believe they were Methodists but have yet to do a search on Shetland's People site. Does anyone have suggestions on how to find James & Forbes SIMPSON burials and Charlotte E. Simpson's burial and or marriage information. Cannot seem to find her on a census. Know that one of her Aunts moved to North Dakota and that her maternal grandparents lived, died and buried in Iowa. Any suggetions and help greatly appreciated. Lauraine
