Hello list, My name is Dave Pierce, and I'm pleased to be able to be a part of this list. My mother was a french canadian from just over the border in Rock Island, Stanstead County, Quebec. I grew up in the section of Newport, Orleans County, Vermont called French Village and/or Catholic Hill. As I was growing up our family spent considerable time on both sides of the border, but now it is much more complicated to be able to travel either way. My primary research is for the surnames CHOQUETTE, DANIELS/DANNEAU, and BELOUIN . My PIERCE surname has mostly been in the Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Vermont areas . I am currently living in western Massachusetts, high atop a mountain overlooking the Connecticut River in the Pioneer Valley .
