Hi Faye - no offense, of course not. Perhaps we are too picky about the term 'scotch' but I do notice that it tends to be used in the U.S. Did you read Garth Hamilton's explanation - it is very helpful and he passed on another little tidbit relating to the differences that I had forgotten about. Scotch though is very definitely a very fine drink.
