    3. Good deal Freda!!! Its good to be picky sometimes.. especially when helping people to realize the importance of words and to understand differences! I did see Garth Hamilton's explanation - he was quite informative.. I had seen a program about the movements to Ireland and then from there to the US. As much as I enjoy many things Scottish, and respect Scotch, I haven't yet acquired a taste for it.. a little too 'smoky' tasting for me! Have a wonderful weekend.. Perhaps we are too picky about the term 'scotch' but I do notice that it tends to be used in the U.S. Did you read Garth Hamilton's explanation - it is very helpful and he passed on another little tidbit relating to the differences that I had forgotten about. Scotch though is very definitely a very fine drink.
