Hello, The information that I have found about my gg grandfather James Johnston is that he arrived in 1827 from Ireland to Ontario at Capt. Wilson's with a ticket for his land. This ticket had the lot and concession number on. What I have never known is how did he obtain this ticket and number. His father also had a ticket for another lot in Gloucester Township. Peggy Gordon Peggy - these were Location Tickets and were Step 5 in the process of obtaining land in Ontario. A Location Ticket permitted the settler to reside on the lot so indicated.
