    3. Faye Land grants were offered to many, not just Loyalists. Depending on the regulations and circumstances, a settler might get a free grant of land or at a reduced rate. He might also be given a hardship grant, or be required to just pay the fees but nothing for the land.     3. My Irish ancestor came to Canada with the British Army in the War of 1812. When he was discharged, he was given a land grant in Ontario.
