Hi Listers, One has to wonder why this type of scam was allowed to get as far as it did? Is it because none filed a complaint? or that someone was paid off behind the scenes? Did this type of operation occur elsewhere in the USA? I once read in a mag. about the 1930-1950 Dr's often, sold babies out the back door of their practices,<war brides?> but they kept records ( of sorts ) and that adoptions were traceable through them. I'm glad that many adoption records are available to those who need to medically find the parents, but it breaks my heart to have some parents, bearing such admosity against the child....such as a rape, but blameing the kid isn't heathly either...i have helped several folks in my area find their "past" families, but we hit it lucky and the person was welcomed with open arms, hugs and kisses..happy endings. Welcome any thoughts, but let's not make this a polictical issue... I have been interested in the "butter" babies for about 2 yrs now..I ust can't imagine the "starving of a baby". ~Linda~ "Everyone must take the time to sit and watch the leaves turn".
