I know that my ancestor, James ABERNETHY (1796-1875) came from Ireland but I don't know his place of origin. His wife was Nancy (aka Agnes) McBRIDE (1796-1878). It is not known whether they came as a married couple or whether they met after the journey. Their first child was born in the U.S. in 1820, the remaining six children were all born in the Kingston, Ontario area between 1821 and 1835. I have not been able to locate James and/or Nancy on any U.S. passenger lists. If anyone could give me any help with locating James on Canadian passenger arrival lists, I'd be eternally grateful.
