Dear Listers, I am trying to trace the arrival of my ancestors in Canada. Augustus PIMBURY (age 25) and his brother Edwin PIMBURY (age 27) arrived in Melbourne, Australia on 26 August 1855, on board the 'Donald Mackay' from Liverpool. These two brothers then appear in Canada. I do not know if they went back to England and then to Canada or from Australia to Canada. Augustus PIMBURY married Ellen Davis - 10 January 1881 - Victoria, B.C. There is mention of the PIMBURY Brothers settling in Salt Spring Island. Edwin PIMBURY appointed J.P. 26 August 1885 - Nanaimo. I think that at some time their brothers - Phillip & John Gardiner PIMBURY joined them in Canada. In 1875, Augustus - Edwin - John G. - Phillip PIMBURY are all on the voting list of Shawnigan, as Farmers in Cow. District. All are listed in the Cemetery at St. Peter's Anglican, Quamichan. Phillip PIMBURY - 18 August 1885 age 58. John Gardiner PIMBURY - 19 February 1887 age 62. Ellen PIMBURY (Davis) - 14 September 1905 age 67. Edwin PIMBURY - 6 April 1909 age 75. Augustus PIMBURY - 27 June 1912 age 81. I would like to ascertain when theses brothers arrived in Canada and if possible on what ship and from where but I would appreciate any information that anyone could give me on the surname PIMBURY. I appreciate any information however small of insignificant that I can get. Many thanks, Judy in Victoria, Australia.
