Hello listers, I am grasping at straws here but figure anything is worth a shot. My 2nd great grandparents, Norman "Mor" MacLeod and Margaret MacLean are said to have come to Canada around 1825/26 from the Isle of Lewis, Scotland. They apparently came to St. Anns, Cape Breton at that time but I do not know whether or not that was their initial point of entry. I also do not know from what part of Lewis they hailed. With such vague information, I'm not expecting miracles but would hope to at least find out from where in Scotland ships would have sailed to Canada during this time period. Finding any ships that came to Cape Breton at this time would be a bonus. I know there was some documentation in existence regarding their passage over but as things often do, the papers disappeared (naturally, after the last person in the family who knew what was on them passed away). Any hints on where to look would be greatly appreciated. I'd love to find out where in Scotland my family came from. Oh, to have an uncommon surname! Thanks for any help. Kindest regards, Juana MacLeod
