I am looking for the passenger list for the Bark Alexander Stewart, which arrived in Quebec on July 28, 1847. It embarked from Limerick, Ireland, around June 10, 1847. I am trying to determine if John Flanagan, about age 24, was a passenger. Thank you. Sharon Flanagan-Hyde, fhyde@cox.net

Sharon Flanagan-Hyde, fhyde@cox.net Sharon, you won't find a passenger list I'm afraid. There were 103 passengers, 3 deaths at sea, 3 deaths on the vessel in quarantine, and two more deaths at the quarantine hospital .. none were Flanagans. This is the Register of Dr. Douglas for vessels boarded at Grosse Isle http://www.theshipslist.com/1847/GIRegister1847.htm (large wide file) Brig ALEXANDER STEWART was the 240th ship arrival at Grosse Isle in the year 1847. Captain Daniel Williams. She sailed from Limerick June 4th and arrived at Grosse Isle July 21st. She remained at quarantine until her release on July 27th arriving at Quebec July 28th. Marj and I still have a lot of files on the go for our 1847 project and will be adding as we complete them. http://www.theshipslist.com/1847/1847.html Typical Brig (line drawing and photograph) http://www.theshipslist.com/ships/descriptions/brig.htm Sue --
