Since we have several queries about ships from Ireland to Canada in the 1840s, I'm repeating my previous message to the list, and adding a bit more to it :-) This is a challenging time period, but let me steer you to some resources you should check. At The Olive Tree Genealogy, there is a page on the section of Ships Passenger Lists To Canada, which explains what lists are available at the National Archives of Canada (NAC) http://olivetreegenealogy.com/ships/tocanp01.shtml You should take a look at the correspondence of the Secretary of State on immigration for 1817-1857. There are 60 reels of microfilm for Vols 1-99. There are lists of immigrants, mainly Irish, and entry books re immigration, and assisted emigration to British North America. These must be ordered offline . Details are given at http://olivetreegenealogy.com/articles/immcanpre1865.shtml Passenger lists before 1865 weren't required, and are sometimes difficult to find. On TheShipsList website they are including Quebec ship arrivals extracted from contemporary newspapers. However here are two search engines I recommend to make your search time more efficient (and hopefully more successful!)
